burgerIn-N-Out by Madison, 6th grade

When I was coming home from school last Monday at about 12:40, I was so hungry and didn’t want to wait to go home. When we passed In-N-Out, I smelled the aroma of grilled onions, burger patties, and french fries. I told my mom, “I am really hungry. Can we go to In-N-Out?”

Nothing Bundt Cakes

by Penny, 5th grade

bundt“We are almost there!” My mom said excited. I am super happy and look out the window.

“Closed?” I ask, depressed.

“Don’t worry! There is another place too at San Carlos.” I quickly sit up straight and am super glad. A few minutes pass and I slowly get bored, minute by minute. I hear my mom say, “Remember, the address is 864 Laurel St, San Carlos, CA 94070.”

My Favorite Movie: Pacific Rim

by Javy, 4th grade

Pacific RimThe best movie of all time is Pacific Rim. First, I like it because it’s about giant robots fighting giant monsters. Second, the robot and abilities are epic. Finally, I like how the robots are being controlled simultaneously by the design two pilots’ movements. So, Pacific Rim is basically the best movie of all time.

by Maia, 2nd grade

Hello. I will be writing about the Disney movie, Frozen, which is my favorite movie.

One of the best parts of Frozen is the story because there is no violence. I also like Frozen because there isn’t a lot of romance. My favorite scene in Frozen was when Elsa built her beautiful castle made of ice.

Book Review of Eon

by Javy, 3rd grade

My second favorite book, Eon, by Alison Goodman, is about a sixteen year-old girl who is running around masquerading as a boy. She is a Dragoneye candidate, who is someone who tries to get chosen by a dragon to be the apprentice of an actual Dragoneye (someone who controls a dragon in exchange for his/her own life force).

However, if a girl gets chosen, the penalty is to get decapitated. So when a sixteen year old girl, whose name is Eona, was chosen to be the Mirror Dragoneye candidate, she is plunged into grave danger.

My favorite scene is when Eona finds out her dragon’s name. She was fighting with another Dragoneye. Her friend, Lady Dela, had a scroll that contains the name of the Mirror Dragon. The scroll is written in woman script, which Eona dosen’t understand. And then, just when it looks like she is going to lose, Lady Dela finds the name … BOOM!!!!!!!!

I always love these stories and that’s why this is my second favorite book!

Book Review of The Sea of Monsters

Image

by Audrey, 4th grade

One of my passions is reading books.  My favorite book is The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan.  I like this book because it is very interesting and has a lot of detail.  The author talks a lot about each character and explains the character’s interests and personality.

Also, another reason why I like this novel is it includes adventures. For example, the story describes a person that gets trapped by monsters and gets turned into a pine tree.  Then, later someone poisons the tree, which puts up special borders that monsters can’t cross.  The borders protect a camp called Camp Half Blood.  Since a mysterious person poisoned the tree, the borders will soon fail.  This is an adventure for three people to save this tree.  Soon, they find out that there is only one cure that can heal the tree.

All in all, I think this story is a good book to read because it is a very exciting sort.  When you get to the part when Percy and his friend get to Cyclops Island, you will want to read on because you want to see what will happen next…

Book Review of Unwind

Imageby Alisilani, 5th grade

My favorite book, Unwind, is a spine-tingling juvenile fiction novel.  Unwind is about three children who are going to be “unwound,” in which all of a child’s organs are transplanted into different donors between the ages thirteen and eighteen.  The main characters are Connor, too hard for his parents, Risa, a ward of the state who is not talented enough to stay alive, and Lev, a tithe (a child conceived and raised to be unwound).  They will all work together to survive.

The author, Neal Shusterman, has written other great books that have a little horror in them.  He has written many great novels that will make you shiver.  So far, he has written four trilogies that seem very interesting.  Unwind is part of the Unwholly trilogy, the third book of which he is still writing.

So far, Unwind has been the most interesting book and Neal Shusterman is likewise an interesting author.
